CNA Certification in TexasOnce you’ve enrolled in your courses, you will be studying for a minimum of 75 hours, 24 of which will involve learning practical skills in a healthcare facility. The remainder of your hours will be spent in the classroom. Part of your training will involve learning skills in CPR. Once you’ve finished your coursework, you are eligible to take the CNA certification exam. Your program will likely help you prepare for it by giving you a practice exam. In addition to written questions, you will be asked to demonstrate some of your newly learned practical skills during the exam. Successful completion of the test means your name will be placed on the Texas State Nurse Aide Registry.
Salaries for CNA Jobs in TexasNursing assistants in Texas generally make between $20,000 and $24,000 per year, which places them close to or a little lower than the national average listed in the Bureau of Labor Statistics for all types of nursing aides. While Texas is not one of the highest paying states for nursing aides, it’s also not one of the lowest. Your salary will likely vary according to the type of facility for which you work.
