The first step towards becoming a CNA in Oklahoma City is finding a school that is approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. These short-term programs can be found at community colleges, technical schools, vocational and learning centers, hospitals and medical facilities. The program must meet specific state requirements to be accredited or approved by the state of Oklahoma. The main requirement is that it consists of at least 120 hours of study. Although most of these hours are made up of CNA classes, the student must also complete at least 16 hours of hands-on training working under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
